Kulinich, Davis earn SCIAC swimmers of the week

ORANGE, Calif. – Two members of the Chapman University swim and dive teams were awarded with SCIAC men's and women's Swimmer of the Week after strong performances against Biola this past weekend. Freshman Michael Kulinich and junior Molly Davis each earned the award for the first time this season.

Kulinich swept the sprint freestyle events to help the men to a victory over the Eagles. He won the 50 free with a time of 22.16 and sprinted to a 50.06 to win the 100 free later in the day. He swam the anchor leg in the 200 medley relay, which finished first but was disqualified.

Davis swam her fastest 200 free of the year to get the event win with a 2:00.96. She also swam the third leg of the 200 medley relay, helping the Panthers to a second place finish with a time of 1:59.08.

The Panthers travel to Whittier on Feb. 2 and Occidental on Feb. 9 before the SCIAC Championships Feb. 21-24 in Commerce, Calif.
