Cannon, Guarino place at SCIAC Diving Championships

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Mina Cannon and junior Olivia Guarino each made finals to represent the Chapman University diving teams at the SCIAC Diving Championships this weekend. Cannon led the Panthers on both boards.

The female divers took to the 3-meter board on Saturday with Cannon and Guarino each qualifying for finals. Cannon ended the event in sixth place with a 327.50 while Guarino came in eighth with a 303.75.

The divers switched to the 1-meter board on Sunday. Cannon's 323.54 placed her seventh in the event while Guarino finished closely behind in eighth with a 314.60.

Both Guarino and Cannon earned the Panthers some points heading into the SCIAC Championships next week. The SCIAC swimmers will compete in their portion of the championship meet from Thursday to Sunday next week.
