Track & field teams achieve academic recognition

The Chapman University track & field teams far exceeded the benchmark set by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association to be recognized as an All-Academic Team.
221 Panthers honored as SCIAC All-Academic

Chapman University’s student-athletes matched their record number with 221 SCIAC All-Academic selections in for the 2018-19 school year. The Panthers had the fourth-most selections of the nine schools in the SCIAC.

The Chapman University men’s 4x400m relay team was recognized with an All-Region award after its second-place finish at the SCIAC Championships. The Panthers had the second-best time in the West Region.

Siguenza re-breaks 400 hurdles school record

At the third and final SCIAC multi-dual of the season, sophomore Gabi Siguenza set the 400 meter hurdles school record of 1:06.06, breaking her previous record set earlier in the season. Both the men’s and women’s teams had many great performances despite falling short to defeat their conference competitors at Occidental College on Saturday.
Track and field sees five first-place finishes at Twilight Invitational

The Chapman University men’s and women’s track and field teams made a successful debut appearance at the Whittier Twilight Invitational, filled with multiple top finishes and personal bests. The teams had a combined five first-place finishes and seven individuals who set personal records.

On Saturday the Chapman University track and field team competed in their second SCIAC meet of the season. The highlight of the meet was the men’s 4x400m relay, which finished in first place, earning the position as conference leaders.
