Men's relay team garners All-Region honors

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's 4x400m relay team was recognized with an All-Region award after its second-place finish at the SCIAC Championships. The Panthers had the second-best time in the West Region.

The Panthers ran a season-best time of 3:19.90 in the final event of the SCIAC Championships in April. Sophomore Aki Shigeyama, junior Copy Epstein, freshman Zach Lietzke and freshman Scott Fitzpatrick combined for the award-winning time that made the first Panther relay team to reach to podium at the championship meet.

The quartet of Chapman runners made up the first relay team to earn All-Region honors and join 2017 SCIAC long jump champion Mitchell Bouldin as the only Panthers to earn All-Region.
