Track & field teams recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic

ORANGE, Calif. – Both Chapman University track & field teams finished off the 2019-20 school year with All-Academic Team honors from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Both Panther teams posted team GPAs in the top-30 in all of the NCAA Division III.

The track & field seasons were unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic but both Chapman teams continued to excel in their studies despite the athletic disappointment. The men's team ranked 24th in Division III with a 3.48 cumulative team GPA through the end of the school year. The women's team posted an outstanding 3.655 team GPA and ranked 28th in the nation.

The USTFCCCA annually recognizes teams with a 3.1 GPA or better on its annual All-Academic list. In total, 150 men's teams made the academic cut while 209 women's teams were recognized.

Chapman's track & field teams have been recognized in each of head coach DeAndra'e Woods three seasons. The SCIAC recognized 40 Chapman track & field student-athletes yesterday as SCIAC All-Academic (3.4 GPA or above).
