The Chapman University women’s basketball team is doing some globetrotting this summer as the Panthers are set to represent the United States at the 34th William Jones Cup International Basketball Tournament in Taiwan this July. Chapman’s entire 2011-12 team – including one last hurrah for all five seniors – will take part in the event from July 7-11 at the Miaoli Dome Gymnasium in Miaoli County, Taiwan.
'Senior Day' victory gives Chapman its 18th straight winning season

The Chapman University women’s basketball team avenged a previous two-point loss to UC Santa Cruz with a 71-53 win on ‘Senior Day’ at the Hutton Center on Saturday afternoon. The win in their season finale marked the Panthers’ 18th consecutive winning season at 13-12 overall.

Chapman lost for the seventh time in its past nine games dropping its home record to 6-3 and the Panthers are 12-11 overall as they begin their last homestand of the season.

Chapman University women’s basketball team earned its largest margin of victory this season with a 30-point win over Arizona Christian University at the Hutton Sports Center on Friday night. The Panthers’ offensive push was led by sophomore G Kimi Takaoka with 18 points and junior G Emily McCoy with 15 points.
Takaoka earns Capital One Academic All-District honors

Chapman University sophomore G Kimi Takaoka has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII Women’s Basketball second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The athletic training major from Arcadia, Calif. is the Panthers’ first women’s basketball player to receive this honor since Nicole Hayman and Christina Ly each did so in 2008-09.

The Occidental College women’s basketball team took its only lead of the second half as time expired and shocked host Chapman University with a 59-57 come-from-behind win on Tuesday night at the Hutton Center. Tigers’ junior F Katelyn Rowe scored the game winning layup as the buzzer sounded to snap the tie and hand Chapman its second consecutive home loss.
