Criswell selected as SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Lucy Criswell averaged nine rebounds per game last week on her way to SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for women's basketball.

The junior from Portland, Ore. equaled her season-best with 11 rebounds, including nine on the defensive glass, against Caltech. She pulled down seven more rebounds – all on the defensive end – against Redlands.

She also had three blocks against Redlands to surpass her own school record for blocks in a season. She ran her total up to 35 for the year and increased her career record to 88 blocks.

The Panthers held their opponents to just 34 percent shooting last week and 27 shooting beyond the three-point arc.

Chapman also locked up the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament with two wins last week. The regular season finale is at home on Saturday at 2 p.m. against La Verne.
