ORANGE, Calif. – The fans have voted senior Jaryn Fajardo into the Beyond Sports Tours Division III All-Star Game. With over 2,800 votes in the fan poll, Fajardo was nearly 900 votes ahead of anyone else to earn one of the final two spots on the 20-woman roster.
The SCIAC Athlete of the Year from Torrance, Calif. will head out to Roanoke College for the inaugural women's basketball All-Star Game to be played at 5 p.m. on Saturday prior to the national championship game.
"This is an awesome once in a lifetime opportunity, especially for it to be the first All-Star Game," Fajardo commented. "I'm honestly just so amazed at how many people have supported me from my family, my friends, my teammates and former teammates. It's crazy to see an actual number increase day-by-day or even hour-by-hour."
Fajrado, along with all 20 All-Stars, will be recognized during a semifinals game on Friday as well as getting on-court recognition during halftime of the national championship game on Saturday. She'll participate in several other activities from a community service event to kids' clinics and a leadership seminar.
