Women's basketball falls in return

ORANGE, Calif — Women's basketball returned from break to the tune of a 74-48 loss to the Wis.-La Crosse Eagles.

Not much worked for the Panthers as they shot 27% from the field. The size proved to be a huge advantage for the Eagles, forcing 10 blocked shots and out rebounding the Panthers 54-34.

Chapman was led by Mia Yamamoto and Julia Strand with eight points apiece, no one was in double-digits for the Panthers.

One of the few advantages for Chapman came on the defensive side of the ball forcing 20 turnovers to their 20, with 10 steals. Strand and Aidan Sherfy each had three steals.

The Panthers (5-6, 1-3 SCIAC) return to the Hutton hardwood on Friday, Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. when they will take on Albion College.
