Lee leads women's golf at SCIAC #1

VENTURA, Calif. – The Chapman University women's golf team opened the spring season at SCIAC #1 over the weekend with senior Kristen Lee leading the way to a fourth-place finish. Lee's second round scorecard equaled the best round of her career.

Lee finished the two-day tournament with her second career round under par. She shot a 1-under 71 to jump into fourth place at the first SCIAC tournament of the season. Both of her under par rounds have come at Olivas Links. She finished the tournament four-over par with a 148.

As a team, the Panthers shot a 313 (+25) on day one and a 315 (+27) on day two to stick in the middle of the team standing in fourth place.

Rachel Truong finished 15th with a 156 (+12) after firing off a six-over 78 on both days. Emily Cho finished 22nd on the individual leaderboard with a 161 (+17). Kaitlyn Vetica and Sydnee DiMascio tied each other for 35th as each finished with a 168 (+24).

The Panthers head to Las Vegas, Nev. for their next tournament at the Aliante Invitational, beginning Mar. 10.
