Women's lacrosse latest to gain academic recognition

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's lacrosse team became the latest Chapman team to earn academic recognition with five individuals also being recognized. The Panthers were honored as one of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Associations' Academic Honor Squads.

The IWLCA annually celebrates squads from all levels of the NCAA and NAIA that maintain a 3.0 team GPA or better. For the third year in a row, the Panthers were included on the distinguished list. Overall, the IWLCA named 312 teams as Academic Honor Squads.

Senior Danielle Zahn was one of the five Chapman Student-Athletes named to the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll after graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She was joined by fellow senior Shelby Thompson as well as juniors Leah Donnelly, Ally Kroeckel and Michaela Lopez.

The prestigious individual academic honor goes to juniors, seniors and graduate students who have maintained a 3.5 GPA or better through their college careers.
