Lambrakis, Lilly named to All-West Region team

ORANGE, Calif. - In 2008, the Chapman University women's soccer team had one player named to the NSCAA Women's NCAA Division III All-West Region team. This year they have two, as senior F Stephanie Lambrakis and sophomore F Kate Lilly have been named to the 2009 All-West Region second and third team's, respectively.

This marks the second All-West Region selection for Lambrakis and first for Lilly who were both named to the Association of Division III Independents All-Independent women's soccer team in December. Lambrakis was the Panthers' top-scorer in 2009 with 21 points for a total of nine goals and three assists. She finishes her Chapman career with 18 goals, 13 assists and 49 total points. Lilly finished second on the team in points with 12, adding five goals and two assists.

In 2009, the Panthers equaled their most wins since the 2006 season with 12 and were three wins short of the all-time wins mark of 15 set in 2003 when the team went 15-5. Chapman began its 2009 season with six-consecutive wins but struggled down the stretch by losing four-of-five games to close out the season.

Lambrakis is the fourth Chapman player in the past four years named to the All-West Region team by the NSCAA.
