Coyle, Mills and Howe earn Academic All-District honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Three Chapman soccer players have been recognized as Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators. Shannon Coyle and Maia Mills earned the distinction for the women's soccer team while Tobi Howe represented the men's soccer team.

The Academic All-District award honors student-athletes for their performances on the field and the classroom. All nominees must be key contributors to their teams with at least a 3.5 GPA and have been enrolled at their school for one full year. All nominees earn the Academic All-District distinction and will go under consideration for Academic All-American.

Coyle was an outside back for the Panthers in her senior season. She returned to the Panthers after an early season injury kept her off the pitch for much of her junior season and maintained a 3.93 GPA. Mills started all but one match in goal for Chapman, making 59 saves and posting a 1.19 goals against average with three shutouts. She owns a 3.57 GPA.

Howe returned to the Panthers for a fifth year to help lead the team to a SCIAC Championship. The Team Captain scored eight goals for Chapman with two assists while keeping a GPA of 3.78.
