Chapman had one win in doubles on the second court from senior Sophia Duong and sophomore Madeline Saunders. The duo defeated Mary Washington's Mackenzie Smith and Alex Ritter 9-7 to improve to 4-1 this season (2-1 in tournament play).

The Panthers then got two wins in the singles matches coming from Duong and Saunders once again. Duong defeated Mary Washington's Caroline Mosberg 3-6, 7-6, 12-10 to improve to 2-0 this spring.

Saunders brought the other singles win by defeating Chrissy Gaul in three sets 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 to record her first win of the season.

After dropping their first two matches, the Panthers hope to break their losing streak in their next match on March 10 against Rochester University (N.Y.) at 2 p.m. at the Chapman Tennis Courts.
