Men’s and women’s tennis teams recognized off the court

Both the Chapman men’s and women’s tennis teams earned recognition for their work inside the classroom earlier this month. Both teams were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after posting team grade point averages of 3.20 or above.
221 Panthers honored as SCIAC All-Academic

Chapman University’s student-athletes matched their record number with 221 SCIAC All-Academic selections in for the 2018-19 school year. The Panthers had the fourth-most selections of the nine schools in the SCIAC.

The Chapman women’s tennis team fell 7-2 to the visiting Middlebury College Panthers earlier this afternoon. Sophomore Anna Kaplan tallied her fourth singles victory of the season as she beat her opponent 6-1, 6-4 on the No. 6 court.

The Chapman University women’s tennis team narrowly fell 5-4 to the visiting Vassar College Brewers earlier this afternoon. Sophomore Madison Ross led the push, taking victories in both her doubles and singles matches.

Women’s tennis rolls past Haverford for first win of the season

The Chapman University women’s tennis team rolled past the visiting Haverford Fords 8-1 in the first match of a mid-week doubleheader to earn its first victory of the 2019 season. The Panthers then fell 6-3 to NCAA Division II Dominican University of California in the evening match. Sophomore Alisa Ogranovich led the Panthers, going a perfect 4-0 on the day and winning the sole singles match against Dominican.
