Long, Chiang earn All-SCIAC recognition

ORANGE, Calif. – Camille Chiang and Ally Long each earned All-SCIAC Second Team recognition to end the 2022 season. Chiang was honored for the second year in a row while Long was recognized for the first time.

In her first full season with the Chapman women's water polo team, Long climbed into the record book with 53 assists – the fourth-most for a single season in Chapman history. She recorded 27 of those assists in SCIAC matches, tying her for first in the SCIAC with Chiang. Long also scored 24 of her goals this season in the 14 SCIAC matches to lead the Panthers. She led the SCIAC with 51 points during the SCIAC season. Long's 24 steals also ranked her fifth. Long ended the season with one of her best matches, scoring four goals and assisting on four more while coming away with five steals.

For the second season in a row, Chiang earned a spot on the All-SCIAC teams. She led the conference alongside teammate and fellow honoree Long with 27 assists in SCIAC contests. She ranked second in the conference with 37 steals and third with 44 total points. Chiang had a season-high of six steals in a win over Caltech and had her best offensive numbers with two goals and four assists against Whittier on March 26.

The Panthers finished the season tied for sixth in the SCIAC standings with a record of 5-9 and won three of their final four contests to end the season on a hot streak.
