Reid breaks school record in NCAA Championship

WINNECONNE, Wis. – Senior Chris Reid certainly left his mark on Chapman cross country history this year, capped by a record-breaking run at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship.

Last week, Reid became the first-ever runner from Chapman University to qualify for the event. When the starting gun fired, Reid wasn't satisfied with the fact that his presence alone was making history. With the temperature below freezing all morning, Reid still went out and broke his own school record on the 8k championship course at the Lake Breeze Golf Course.

Reid finished with a time of 25:54.10, breaking his own school record from 2013 by nearly two seconds. He finished 170th overall out of the 278 runners.

The run was the final one of Reid's career and the final race of the Chapman cross country season. Reid was the only senior on both of this year's squads.
