Strand and Roggin awarded All-Region 10 honors

ORANGE, Calif — On Tuesday, Mar. 15, Chapman's Julia Strand and Jack Roggin of the Women's and Men's Basketball teams, were awarded All-Region 10 honors.

Julia Strand - All-Region 10 First Team

Strand had a magnificent season for the Panthers leading them in scoring, rebounds, and blocks per game. She scored 22.7 points per game, good enough for fifth in the nation, and 11.2 rebounds per game.

She also tied for top-34 in double-doubles with 12 on the season in only 18 games played.

Strand had a season high of 33 points against UC Santa Cruz on Jan. 28, and eclipsed the 30 point mark twice and scored 25 or more points seven times.

Jack Roggin - All-Region 10 Second Team

Roggin led the Panthers in points, steals, and assists per game. He scored 16.4 points per game, slung over three assists, and swiped two steals.

His best game of the season came on the biggest stage, and he shined with Chapman's back against the wall.

During the regular season, the Panthers trailed at La Verne with first place on the line, and Roggin's 22 second half points kept the Panthers in that top spot. A few weeks later as the Panthers traveled to Texas to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor in the regional, Roggin scored a career-high 34 points, at one point making three consecutive triples to extend the Panther lead to 11 with only 4:31 remaining.
