Closer keeps Chapman's All-Region streak going

The historically pitching-rich Chapman University baseball team kept a big streak alive this week. Junior RHP Taber Watson has been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region baseball team, extending a streak of 19 consecutive years the Panthers have had at least one pitcher named to the All-West Region team.

ORANGE, Calif. - A trying season ended on a bright note for three members of the Chapman University baseball team who were named to the All-SCIAC second team in an announcement made by the conference on Friday. The trio of juniors Mark Saatzer, Connor Battaglia and Taber Watson make up the first set of Panthers to earn All-SCIAC honors in over sixty years.
Bounce-back win in doubleheader split keeps Panthers' playoff hopes alive

After suffering its worst loss of the season, a 10-0 thrashing at the hands of the Whittier Poets, the Chapman University baseball team earned a hard-fought 5-3 victory over Redlands on Saturday at Hart Park. The doubleheader split moves the Panthers’ conference record to 14-12 as they remain in the playoff hunt with two games remaining in the regular season.
Hanks tosses first career shutout in Panthers' win over Whittier

ORANGE, Calif.- Junior starting pitcher Justin Hanks tossed his second straight complete game, leading the Chapman University baseball team to a 9-0 shutout over Whittier on Friday at Hart Park. The Panthers have bounced back from a seven game losing streak, winning four straight games to improve their conference record to 13-9.

Panthers make quick work of Caltech

The Chapman University baseball team defeated visiting Caltech 4-1 in the first of a three-game weekend SCIAC series at Hart Park on Friday afternoon. The Panthers needed just an hour and 45 minutes to dispose of the Beavers as each opposing starting pitcher tossed a complete game under 100 pitches.
Riddle's shutout effort earns SCIAC honors

Chapman University freshman RHP Braden Riddle was named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week last week for his performance during the period of April 1-7. The rookie tossed 10 shutout innings to defeat Hardin-Simmons University as the Panthers won 1-0 in Abeline, Texas.

The Chapman University baseball team will be happy to turn the page on the calendar this week. The Panthers dropped a pair of games to the University of Redlands on Saturday 16-11 and 5-0 as the Bulldogs swept the three-game weekend series and added to Chapman’s now six-game losing skid.
Déjà vu strikes Chapman in loss to Scarlet Raiders

The Chapman University baseball team experienced a case of déjà vu on Thursday night, falling to visiting Rutgers-Newark University at Hart Park by a score of 3-2. It was the second straight year Scarlet Raiders’ senior RHP Kyle Van Vliet tossed a complete game victory against the Panthers and didn’t allow a run until the ninth.
