Multiple teams take rain checks after Valentine's rain

ORANGE, Calif. – On the day in which we celebrate love, the weather has not been lovely. Southern California is being drenched on Thursday, causing multiple schedule changes to Chapman's sports teams.

The baseball team was scheduled for a Valentine's date with East Texas Baptist. Mother Nature has intervened and grounded both teams for the holiday. The three-game series will now begin at noon on Friday and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.

The softball team had already switched home dates with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in anticipation of the rain and was scheduled to play at Redlands on Friday and at CMS on Saturday. The SCIAC-opening doubleheader on Friday at Redlands has already been postponed but a makeup date is still to be determined. Saturday's twinbill at CMS remains unchanged as of Thursday at 11 a.m.

The women's tennis team has also cancelled its trip to Santa Cruz, Calif., where it was supposed to play three matches this weekend.
