Banks debuts as SCIAC Pitcher of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Max Banks is already turning heads as the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week after his Chapman debut. Banks tossed five dominant innings in the Panthers' 12-3 win over Whitworth on Sunday.

In the first inning of his first collegiate start, Banks worked around an error by striking out the side to set the tone. He struck out two batters in each of his next four innings and allowed just one single from the Pirates.

He allowed just one runner past second base and left the game with a 4-1 lead to pick up his first win.

The Panthers host George Fox in a three-game series next weekend, beginning Friday at 3 p.m. and concluding with an 11 a.m. Saturday doubleheader.
