Baierl, Keefe selected for weekly SCIAC award

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second week in a row, senior Dillon Keefe has been named the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week. Junior kicker Ken Baierl was also named the SCIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Keefe was a menace to La Verne quarterbacks all game in Chapman's 59-25 win. The senior linebacker had six total tackles – half of which were QB sacks – and set a new single game record with three forced fumbles. His three sacks were a career-high and tied for the fourth-most in a single game in Chapman history. With the three sacks, Keefe moved up to second all-time at Chapman in both sacks and tackles for loss.

Baierl had a career day in the kicking game with a 35-yard field goal and eight extra points. His 35-yarder in the first quarter set a new career-long for the junior kicker. His 8-for-8 mark in PATs also tied his career-high for PATs in a game.

The Panthers are back home this week to take on George Fox on Saturday at 7 p.m.
