Baierl gets second SCIAC weekly award

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Ken Baierl was awarded the SCIAC Specialist of the Week honors after helping the Panthers to a 27-14 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. The recognition is the second weekly award for Baierl this season.

Baierl hit all three extra points on Saturday and knocked through a pair of short field goals in the second half to help the Panthers pull away. The Aliso Viejo, Calif. native hit a 20-yarder in the third quarter and a 21-yarder in the fourth to end a couple of Panther drives that ended inside the five-yard line.

His two makes mark the first time this season he has hit two field goals in a game and the third time in his career. He is 5-for-6 in field goal attempts this season and 37-of-38 in extra point attempts.

The Panthers return home for their final home game on Saturday to take on CMS at 7 p.m.
