Riley earns Capital One Academic All-District Honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior forward Justin Riley has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII men's basketball second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Riley is the first men's basketball player to receive the award since Patrick Carney in 2007.

Riley, a San Dimas Calif. native is a broadcast journalism major with a 3.57 grade-point average. He is a four-year starter for the Panthers, and the team's top rebounder. His 15.8 points per game is second on the team, and he is third in assists with 43.

The men's basketball team is currently 18-3 and the No. 20 ranked team in Division III.  The Panthers are currently riding a five-game winning streak and have a 6-0 record at home.

The Capital One Academic All-America program honors male and female student-athletes in 12 sports annually. To be eligible, students must be varsity starters or key reserves, maintain a grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale, and hold at least a sophomore standing. Chapman is a member of the District VIII College Division, which includes Division II, III, and NAIA schools throughout the Western United States.
