Men's basketball garners three All-SCIAC selections

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's basketball team equaled a program-best with three All-SCIAC selections, the conference announced today. Seniors Hayden Moore and Jack Roggin earned First Team honors while senior Anthony Giomi was honored on the Second Team.

Moore earned his second career All-SCIAC honor after also earning Second Team recognition in 2019-20. The Panthers' sharp shooter ranks second in the SCIAC with 43 made three-pointers in the SCIAC season. In less than two full seasons, Moore made his way into Chapman's all-time top-10 for made three-pointers and now ranks fifth with 168 made in his career. He averaged 15.3 points per game in 15 SCIAC games this season, which ranks 10th in the SCIAC. He reached double digits in 13-of-15 SCIAC games this season and scored 20-plus in four of those. The Huntington Beach native also ranked second in the SCIAC and led the Panthers while averaging over 35 minutes per game.

Roggin earned his first career honor after surging in the second half of the season to lead the Panthers in scoring during the SCIAC season. His 16.7 points per game ranked ninth in the SCIAC and his 41 assists also ranked in the top-10. He finished second in the SCIAC with 31 steals. The Toluca Lake, Calif. native scored in double digits in 15 of Chapman's last 16 games, including a career-best 33-point effort against La Verne on Feb. 16. He scored 20 or more points in seven games this year.

Giomi jumped into a starting role this season and responded with career-best numbers. He averaged 11.7 points per game and ranked third in the SCIAC with a 54.3 field goal percentage. He was also seventh with 42 assists and seventh with 29 offensive rebounds. The Seattle, Wash. native ended the season with a career-best 22-point effort in the Panthers win over Caltech.

Chapman's three selections mark the fourth time in program history that a trio of Panthers have been included on the All-SCIAC team, joining the 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18 squads.

The second-seeded Panthers host seventh-seeded Whittier tonight at 7 p.m. in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament Quartefinals.
