Sweaney named AD3I Player of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. - Chapman University senior Dalton Sweaney has been named men's soccer Player of the Week by the Association of Division III Independents after leading the Panthers with four goals in their first four games.

The midfielder scored a pair of goals on Monday in the Panthers' 2-1 win over La Verne. He also scored goals in losses to Cal Baptist and Transylvania (Ky.) and currently leads the team with eight points this season. Sweaney tied for fourth on the team last year with seven points.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of 14 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
