Panthers top Tigers in first SCIAC match

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman men's soccer team (2-2 (1-0)) topped the Occidental Tigers (2-4 (0-1)) 1-0 in the first SCIAC matchup of the 2021 season. Aidan Wall continues to be a powerhouse for the Panthers and scored the lone goal of the game. 

The match was tied 0-0 into the second half when Wall scored his fourth goal on the season with 20 minutes remaining on the clock. Garrett Lindfelt was awarded the assist, his first of the season. 

Chandler Siemonsma totaled five saves on the night including a couple lead-threatening rockets off the foot of Joey Schwartz, he now has 13 saves over four games played.

The Panthers made 13 shots compared to the Tigers seven with a 56% possession total. Lindfelt tied Thomas Pierce with three shots on the night, trailing Wall's five. 

The Panthers continue SCIAC play and travel Whittier to face the Poets on Sat., Sep. 18 at 7 p.m.
