ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman (2-4(1-2)) men's soccer team fell to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps ( 5-1-1(3-0) 0-1 after a Stags goal scored with less than 12 minutes remaining in the match.
The score was tied 0-0 until Stags Will Barton knocked one in from the left side 33 minutes into the second half. Tommy Brown was awarded the assist.
The Panthers played down a man for the last 15 minutes of the second half after a red card was issued to sophomore defender Treyden Buder-Nakasone. The Stags led the Panthers in possession time with 69% but the teams tied with shots on goal, each tallying four. Chandler Siemsonsa totaled three saves on the game for the Panthers, bringing his season total to 24.
The Panthers return to Wilson Field on Sat., Sep. 25 to face the La Verne Leopards at 7 p.m. in the fourth SCIAC conference game of the season.
