Men's soccer sweeps SCIAC weekly awards

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's soccer team swept the weekly SCIAC awards after a 2-0 week. Senior Aidan Wall captured the offensive honor while senior Chandler Siemonsma won the defensive award.

The SCIAC's leading scorer continued his career season with another three goals, including both game-winners, last week. Wall ran his season total up to 10 goals in 10 matches, making him the first Panther to reach double digits since 2014. He scored twice at Caltech and scored the only goal of the match in a huge win over Pomona-Pitzer that launched Chapman into the top-4 in the standings.

Siemonsma posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time this season, making three saves in each match. He came up with a crucial save late in the Pomona-Pitzer match while the Panthers held on for the win despite being down a player.

Chapman has won three of its last four matches to improve to 4-3 in SCIAC. The Panthers head out on the road for back-to-back matches this week, taking on Redlands on Wednesday and La Verne on Saturday.
