Yook knocked out in first round by No. 3 seed

CLAREMONT, Calif. -  Chapman University senior Clifford Yook lost in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis National Championship singles tournament, falling to No. 3 seed John Watts from Washington University (Mo.) 6-1, 6-0 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on the campus of the Claremont Colleges on Saturday.

The senior finished the season 16-10 and leaves Chapman as the school's career leader (Division III) in singles victories with a 46-27 overall mark. Yook is the first Chapman male singles player to reach the NCAA championship bracket since Robert Chu in 2005 and '06.

Yook was making his first-ever NCAA postseason appearance, earning All-America honors in the process. He is the 15th All-American in Chapman's men's tennis history.
