Two Panthers named to ESPN Academic All-District team

A pair of Chapman University seniors was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VIII at-large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week. Womens water polo player Daniella Beintema and All-America mens tennis player Clifford Yook were each named to the at-large team for their athletic and academic achievements.

Chapman University senior Clifford Yook lost in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Mens Tennis National Championship singles tournament, falling to No. 3 seed John Watts from Washington University (Mo.) 6-1, 6-0 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on the campus of the Claremont Colleges on Saturday.
Three Panthers selected to tennis championships

Not since the glory days of Chapman University Tennis in the 1980s (known as Chapman College then), have the Panthers been this well-represented at the NCAA national championships. Three Panthers have been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III mens and womens singles and doubles championships upcoming later this month.

The Panthers championship hopes in Ojai came to an end on Saturday halting a run that saw Chapman Universitys No. 1 singles players Liz Lewis and Clifford Yook each reach the quarterfinals in their respective brackets, as well as the Panthers womens doubles of Lewis and Kelley Fox advancing to the semifinals.
Chapman men still alive, reach Round of 16

Chapman University mens tennis players Clifford Yook and Christian Isip have each advanced to the Round of 16 at the 109th Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament with singles victories on Friday. Both Panthers will try to reach the quarterfinals on Saturday with matches at 9 a.m. in Ojai.

Chapman Universitys mens and womens tennis programs will be well-represented once again when the 109th Annual Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament kicks off on Thursday in Ojai. For the Chapman women, ranked No. 4 in the West Region and No. 25 in Division III, it is expected to serve as a primer for the NCAA postseason. For some Panthers, it may be the tournament to make or break their playoff hopes.
