Men’s tennis notches 7-2 victory over Lake Forest

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team completed the doubleheader victory for the Panthers as they beat Lake Forest 7-2 earlier tonight. Similar to the women's match earlier today, sophomore Len Kamemoto completed a come-from-behind victory on the No. 2 court in his singles match.

Kamemoto dropped the first match 3-6 but came back to take the second set 6-3. He and Forester freshman Brett O'Brien headed into the 10-point tiebreaker, where Kamemoto won 11-9.

The doubles teams of freshman Jacob Lee and junior Brock DeHaven and Kamemoto and junior Matthew Mead both won their respective matches, with Lee and DeHaven taking an 8-2 victory and Kamemoto and Mead taking an 8-6 victory. The freshman duo of Troy Manditch and Brandon Sulzberg dropped their doubles match 7-8 to make the score 2-1 in favor of Chapman heading into the singles matches.

Lee took to court No. 1 for his singles match, winning a swift 6-2, 6-1 match. DeHaven defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-4 on the No. 4 court while junior Igor Belineli won 6-2, 6-2 on the No. 5 court and senior Rasmus Helms won 6-3, 6-4 on the No. 6 court.

The Panthers return to Lastinger Tennis Center on Friday, March 23 at 1 p.m. to face Principia College.
