Wilkins tops eighth best player in nation
ORANGE, Calif — Caleb Wilkins keeps the upsets rolling on Sunday, Mar. 20 with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win over the No. 8 player in the nation for NCAA Division III Men's Tennis in Chapman's 6-3 loss to Johns Hopkins.
Wilkins yet again won both his doubles and singles matches on the day. His dominance continues as he has now won eight of his nine singles matches and seven of nine doubles matches. He hasn't lost a match since Chapman's Mar. 7 match against Swarthmore, and has won eight doubles matches in a row.
Wilkins and his double partner accounted for two of the Panthers' three points on the day, with their 8-7 win. The other point came from Andy Hess who won his second singles match of the season, 6-4, 6-3.
Chapman fell to 4-5 on the season with the loss. Johns Hopkins improved to 3-0.
The Panthers are back at it on Tuesday, Mar. 22 when they take on Colby.
