Men's tennis falls 6-3 to Caltech
ORANGE, Calif. – A tough SCIAC schedule continued on Saturday as the Chapman University men's tennis team fell 6-3 to Caltech. The Panthers took the top doubles and singles matches but dropped their seventh consecutive match.
Caleb Wilkins and Mac Caldwell combined to score all the Panthers' points, winning together at No. 1 doubles as well as their respective singles matches. The duo took the 8-5 victory in the doubles match and Wilkins won in No. 1 singles 6-3, 7-5. Caldwell took the No. 6 match in three sets – 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Caltech took the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles matches, 8-2 and 8-7, respectively. In singles straight set victories at No.2, No. 3 and No. 5 clinched the match for the Beavers. Danny Marsh took his match into a third set but ultimately fell 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The Panthers will look to snap their skid on Wednesday when they take on Cal Lutheran at the Anderson Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
