Men's tennis falls 5-4 in season finale

ORANGE, Calif. – The seniors nearly led the Chapman University men's tennis team to a season-ending victory but the Panthers fell 5-4 to visiting Colorado College.

The Panthers took the initial 2-1 lead after doubles with Caleb Wilkins and Kameron DeHart winning 8-3 at No. 1 while Tommy Hays and Mac Caldwell won 8-4 at No. 2. Colorado College edged out the 8-6 win at No. 3.

In singles, DeHart won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 but Danny Marsh dropped a hard-fought 7-5, 6-2 match at No. 2. Jack Alexander outlasted his opponent for a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 6 but Colorado College won two more matches in three sets. Josh Blinder battled through two sets but dropped both in a tiebreaker for a 7-6, 7-6 loss.

The Panthers season comes to an end with a record of 6-12 overall. Chapman posted a 3-4 record in the SCIAC to finish fifth in the standings.
