ORANGE, Calif. — Softball split Tuesday, March 28th's double header against the Williams Ephs with a 4-2 game one loss and a 9-8 walk-off win in the final game at El Camino Real Park.

Game 1 - L, 4-2

Ephs' starting pitcher Sadie Leonard took a perfect game into the fifth inning holding a 3-0 lead.

Morgan Lastinger broke it up with a double to start the inning. Chill Serna followed by reaching on a dropped third strike, then Taylor Cruz started her fantastic day off with a two-RBI single to cut the deficit to one.

The Panthers, however, would go hitless the remainder of the game and strike out 15 times.

Game 2 - W, 9-8

The Panthers captured a walk-off victory in game two on a Kristy Kitabayashi swipe of home on a wild pitch after leading 8-3 to enter the seventh inning.

Chapman dominated for six innings of the game, with Simi Lauwers starting and Jillian Kelly relieving, the duo allowed just one earned run through that span.

The Panthers offense put up a four spot in the first. Sam Kennedy opened the scoring on a wild pitch, then Cruz smacked a triple into left-center scoring the loaded bases. Cruz ended the day with seven RBI, with five in game two.

The game unraveled for the Panthers in the seventh when they surrendered five runs letting up the lead for the first time since the first inning. But the walk-off in the bottom half sealed the split.
