McMillan earns weekly SCIAC honor

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Jesse McMillan was selected as the SCIAC Field Athlete of the Week after vaulting to a first-place finish at the Whittier Twilight on Friday. McMillan currently leads the SCIAC in the pole vault.

McMillan cleared 4.76 meters on his first try at the Whittier Twilight but missed on his three chances to set a new PR at 4.91 meters. He set his PR one year ago at the Whittier Twilight, clearing 4.90 meters in 2022, which earned him a spot at the NCAA Division III Championships.

With a 4.76 meter clearance, McMillan currently ranks ninth in Division III.

The Panthers have their final competitions before the SCIAC Championships at the end of the month with a handful of athletes heading to the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at Long Beach State on Thursday and  the whole team competing at the third SCIAC Multi-Dual on Saturday.
