Strand recognized on D3hoops.com Team of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Julia Strand has been on fire ever since returning to the floor on December 19 and was recognized on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. She is the first women's basketball student-athlete at Chapman to earn the award.

Strand made program history after averaging 27.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in three games last week. She scored at least 25 points in all three games and posted a double-double in two of the three. In a road win at La Verne, Strand scored 32 points and grabbed 18 rebounds without committing a turnover. Her 18 boards tied for the most in Chapman's Division III history.

In her six games since returning from injury, Stand is averaging 21.8 points and 13.2 rebounds per game to lead Chapman in both categories. She had a double-double in five of her six games this year along with two assists and 1.7 steals per game.

Strand is the first in program history to earn the national award, recognizing five players per week.

The Panthers are back on the Hutton Sports Center floor on Wednesday to take on Occidental at 7 p.m.
