Strand recognized by D3hoops.com again

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second time this season, senior Julia Strand has gained national recognition on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Strand had another huge week in leading Chapman to two wins and into a three-way tie for second place.

Strand lead the SCIAC with over 23 points and nearly 11 rebounds per game this conference season. She scored 29 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds in Chapman's 85-75 win over Oxy on Wednesday. In the Panthers huge road win at CMS on Saturday, Strand had her ninth double-double in 14 games played this year with 18 points and 12 boards. She also had three steals and two assists in the 63-47 win that propelled the Panthers into a three-way tie for second place.

With her second selection of the season, Strand became the first Chapman basketball player from the men's or women's team to earn two Team of the Week selections.

The Panthers end the regular season at home against La Verne at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Cal Lutheran at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
