Strand finishes regular season with defensive weekly honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Julia Strand finished off her dominant regular season with SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Strand finished the regular season as the scoring and rebounding champion. While also averaging 20 points per game last week, Strand also averaged 10.5 rebounds, including 8.5 on the defensive end. She also had six steals and three blocks last week to add to her defensive numbers.

With Strand leading the way, the Panthers finished the SCIAC season with an 11-5 record and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Chapman hosts seventh-seeded La Verne in the SCIAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
