Ferreira honored as Offensive Athlete of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Mei-Lani Ferreira has been selected as the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Panthers to a pair of wins.

Ferreira scored seven goals with one assist for an eight-point week. She picked up six ground balls and caused seven turnovers.

In the match against Lake Forest, Ferreira scored five goals to led the offensive onslaught. She was 2-for-2 on free position attempts while also causing six turnovers and picking up five ground balls. She added a pair of goals in the 21-7 win over Cal Lutheran with another ground ball and caused turnover.

The Panthers outscored their opponents 42-11 last week to improve to 5-1 on the year and 3-1 in the SCIAC.
