ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's lacrosse team fell 22-5 to second-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the semifinal round of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. The Panthers' season comes to an end with an 11-6 overall record.

The Panthers opened the match with a 2-1 lead after goals from Josie Morrissey and Annika Carlson but CMS used its quick transition offense to score the next six goals to take a 7-2 lead and build a 12-5 lead by halftime.

Kendall Chapko kept Chapman off the board in the second half as the Athenas continued to run away. She made 12 saves with five coming in the second half.

Jessica Ricketts picked up 10 draw controls to pad her single season and career school records in the category. Carlson scored twice to lead the Panthers and Sophia Bitis recorded one assist to add to her single season school record.

The Panthers' season comes to a close with the loss and CMS advances to the championship match against top-seeded Pomona-Pitzer. The Panthers won 11 matches for just the fourth time in school history.
