Women's soccer earns Team Academic Award

The Chapman University women’s soccer team earned the College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches for continued success in the classroom.
A record number of Chapman student-athletes earn SCIAC All-Academic

Chapman University student-athletes set a new school record with 281 individuals earning SCIAC All-Academic recognition. The 281 individuals to earn the annual academic recognition are 22 more than year’s record-breaking number. The SCIAC annually recognizes student-athletes who have been at their institution for at least one academic year and finished the school year with a 3.4 cumulative GPA or better.
Bland honored as Scholar All-American, Roux Scholar All-Region

Seniors Kelsey Bland and Jessi Roux added another prestigious award to their seasons as the United Soccer Coaches announced its Scholar All-Region and Scholar All-America teams. Bland was selected as a Second Team Scholar All-America goalkeeper while Roux was one of the midfielders on the Scholar All-West Region team.

For the first time since 2012, the Chapman University women’s soccer team had multiple All-Region selections from the United Soccer Coaches. Chapman had three players awarded on the All-West Region team.

The Chapman University women’s soccer team landed four selections on the All-SCIAC team with senior Jessi Roux also being honored with the SCIAC Award of Distinction. Roux was also a Second Team selection along with fellow senior Cate Combi while seniors Riley Pidgeon and Kelsey Bland earn spots on the First Team.
Pidgeon earns third SCIAC weekly honors

Senior Riley Pidgeon earned SCIAC weekly honors for the third time this season. She secured the two goals that led the Panther women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas on Saturday, her Senior Night.

The Chapman women’s soccer team defeated the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas 2-1 in an overtime battle. The Panthers secured third in the SCIAC with the win, advancing to the SCIAC Tournament. The Panthers celebrated their 2021 graduating seniors prior to the match.

The Chapman University women’s soccer team shutout La Verne for a 3-0 win to clinch a spot in the 2021 SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Senior Anna Montemor had a goal and an assist for the Panthers (8-4-2, 6-4-1).

Senior women’s soccer player Kelsey Bland earned SCIAC weekly honors after tallying 11 more saves this past week in a 3-0 victory over Redlands and a 2-0 loss to Pomona-Pitzer.

Women’s soccer senior Riley Pidgeon and classmate Kelsey Bland earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors after an action packed week. The Panthers secured a 5-0 victory over Caltech on Wednesday and a 2-1 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.

Senior Riley Pidgeon scored her first career hat trick in leading the Chapman University women’s soccer team to a 5-0 defeat of Caltech on Wednesday. Chapman allowed just two shots from Caltech to move to 5-2-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the SCIAC.
