Women's soccer holds Bulldogs scoreless at home

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman women's soccer shutout the Redlands Bulldogs 3-0 on Wilson Field, the Panthers are now 5-2-1 in the SCIAC.

Just nine minutes into the first, the Panthers were on the board with a goal off the foot of senior Riley Pidgeon. Ella LaBrie rocketed the ball to Pidgeon and was awarded the assist. Pidgeon secured her ninth goal on the season, before coming into 2021 she had tallied five career goals. Pidgeon tops the Panther leaderboard with goals scored and earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors after her hat trick last week.

Freshman Emily Stocker put Chapman up 2-0 27 minutes into the first, she secured her second goal on the season. Anna Montemor was awarded the assist.

The score was finalized at 3-0 in the first with an Erin Wilbanks goal off the Lily Jose assist with two seconds left in the half, Wilbanks earned her first goal on the season. The second half of the match was left scoreless.

The Panthers led the Bulldogs in possession time with 59% and tallied 10 shots on goal compared to Redlands two. Senior Kelsey Bland bolstered her total saves on the season to 36 after earning SCIAC weekly honors alongside her classmate Pidgeon.

The Panthers return to Wilson Field on Sat., Oct. 16 to face the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens at 11 a.m.
