Pidgeon earns third SCIAC weekly honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Riley Pidgeon earned SCIAC weekly honors for the third time this season. She secured the two goals that led the Panther women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas on Saturday, her Senior Night.  

With the win, the Panthers secured third in the SCIAC advancing to the SCIAC Tournament Semifinals this Thursday. The first goal of the game came off of a penalty kick with ten minutes left in regulation, Pidgeon rocketed the ball in to tie the score 1-1 sending the match into overtime. Six minutes into overtime, Pidgeon secured the victory for Chapman when she first deflected the ball off of the CMS goalie, pulling her outside and leaving the shot wide open for the game-winner into the left corner.

The Panthers face the Cal Lutheran Regals this Thur., Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in Thousand Oaks in the SCIAC Tournament Semifinals.
