Both tennis teams, 15 individuals earn ITA academic honors

Both Chapman University tennis teams and 15 individuals earned academic recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their work over the past school year. It is the second year in a row that both programs have been honored as All-Academic teams.
Hammer ends career with historic All-SCIAC nod

Senior Andrea Hammer closed out her Chapman career by making Chapman history as the first First Team All-SCIAC women’s tennis selection in school history. Hammer also became the first tennis student-athlete to earn All-SCIAC honors twice in her career.

The Chapman University women’s tennis team will play for seventh place after dropping a pair of matches at the 2016 SCIAC Women’s Tennis Tournament. On day one, Chapman fell quickly to No. 3-seeded University of Redlands 5-0 in match three and dropped match eight on day two 7-2 to No. 7-seeded Caltech.

Chapman University Athletics celebrated another outstanding year with its annual Jog-a-thon at Wilson Field on Friday. The Panthers looked back on all the successes of the 2015-16 seasons and honored four seniors with the department’s annual awards.
Hammer, Saunders compete in Ojai Tournament

Senior Andrea Hammer and junior Madeline Saunders represented the Chapman University women’s tennis team at the 116th Annual Ojai Valley Tournament this weekend. Hammer advanced to round 16 of singles play in the tournament for the second year in a row before being eliminated.
Women's tennis picks up win over Caltech

The women’s tennis team picked up its second win of the season with a 5-4 win over Caltech on Friday but fell 9-0 to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday. Senior Andrea Hammer led the win over Caltech with a win at the top singles and doubles spot.

The Chapman University women’s tennis team fell 9-0 to fifth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at the Anaheim Hills Racquet Club. The Sagehens took all six singles points in straight sets.
Saunders wins again as women's tennis ends nonconference slate

Madeline Saunders continued to be a bright spot for the Chapman University women’s tennis team but the Panther fell 8-1 to visiting Lewis & Clark on Wednesday. Saunders improved to 5-4 on the year in the No. 2 slot.

The Chapman University women’s tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Sunday and Monday with a narrow loss on the Sunday. The Panthers fell 5-4 to St. Lawrence on Sunday before falling to 9-0 to Bowdoin on Monday.
