Volleyball earns AVCA's Team Academic Award
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Chapman University women's volleyball team earned academic recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the sixth year in a row. The Panthers were part of a record-shattering number of teams to be honored on the annual Team Academic Award list.
The AVCA annually awards high school and collegiate volleyball teams from both genders that maintain a 3.3 team GPA or better. Chapman well exceeded that benchmark with a 3.52 team GPA. The Panthers were also honored last spring for having the top team GPA of all 11 women's teams at Chapman.
In total, a record number of 1,126 teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award with 175 coming from the NCAA Division III.
