A record number of Chapman student-athletes earn SCIAC All-Academic

Chapman University student-athletes set a new school record with 281 individuals earning SCIAC All-Academic recognition. The 281 individuals to earn the annual academic recognition are 22 more than year’s record-breaking number. The SCIAC annually recognizes student-athletes who have been at their institution for at least one academic year and finished the school year with a 3.4 cumulative GPA or better.

Mirro completes season at NCAA Championships

Chapman women’s cross country athlete Maddie Mirro competed in the NCAA Division III Championship 6k this morning in Louisville, Kentucky and took 198th with a 23:08.7. She is the second female runner in program history to represent Chapman at nationals.

Mirro ready to run at NCAA Championships

Junior Maddie Mirro will become the second female runner in program history to represent Chapman University at the NCAA Division III Championships when the starting gun sounds on Saturday. Mirro earned her spot in the national meet with a 12th-place finish at regionals last week.

Runners who will compete in the 2021 NCAA Division III women’s cross country championships were announced Sunday afternoon. Chapman cross country athlete Maddie Mirro was declared a West Region women’s individual qualifier.

The Chapman University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division III West Region Championships this morning, junior Maddie Mirro took 11th overall in the 6k and posted a new personal best.

Program-best finishes, All-SCIAC honors for Mirro at SCIAC Championships

Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams saw their best finishes in program history at the SCIAC Championships on Saturday. The women’s team took fifth and the men’s team took sixth.

Chapman men’s cross country runner Anthony Hart broke the all-time Chapman men’s 8k record at Cal State Fullerton this morning. The men’s team took sixth overall in the Titan Invitational.

Junior Maddie Mirro placed in the top-15 to lead the Chapman University cross country teams at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday. Both teams took eighth place in the team standings.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Chapman University men’s and women’s cross country athletes tallied up new personal records at the UC Riverside Invitational Sat., Sep. 18. All six women’s runners hit new personal 6k records.

The Chapman University men’s cross country team made its season debut while the women’s team was back out on the course on Friday morning at the Biola Invitational. The men’s team placed 10th and the women’s team took ninth. The Panthers were the only Division III teams in a field of 20-plus teams from NCAA Division II and junior colleges.

The Chapman University women’s cross country team took second place in the Mark Covert Invitational Women’s Open 5k to begin the 2021 season. Junior Maddie Mirro paced the Panther runners finishing in second individually.
