WWPA names 22 Panthers to its All-Academic Team

A total of 22 mens and womens water polo players from Chapman University have been honored by the Western Water Polo Association for their outstanding work in the classroom. Ten Panther men and a dozen women were named to the WWPA All-Academic Team for 2009-10.

The Chapman University womens water polo team continues to be among the smartest squads in the pool. Even after leading the nation in team grade-point average last year, the Panthers improved their overall mark from 3.42 to a 3.45 team GPA during the 2009-10 school year.
Worthington earns All-WWPA honorable mention

The Western Water Polo Association announced its All-WWPA team on Tuesday, with Chapman University sophomore Arielle Worthington earning honorable mention after averaging 1.6 goals and 4.7 shots per game this season. The WWPAs end of the season awards are voted on annually by the coaches.

The Chapman University womens water polo team could not overcome a first-half scoring outburst by visiting Azusa Pacific University and the Panthers dropped their home finale 14-6 at the Allred Aquatics Center on Wednesday afternoon.
