After a one year absence, the Chapman University women’s basketball team is heading back to the NCAA Division III Championships. The NCAA announced today that Chapman will play Louisiana College in a first round matchup on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Hutton Sports Center.

It took three months, but the Panthers finally got their revenge. The Chapman University women’s basketball team rallied from eight points down with 7:28 to go in the game to capture the Division III Independents West Region championship with a 65-61 win over Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon at the Maher Athletic Center on the campus of the University of Dallas.

The Chapman University women’s basketball team won for the sixth straight game and improved to 19-1 in their last 20 games with a 56-34 victory over visiting U.C. Santa Cruz on Friday night at the Hutton Center. Of equal or greater significance, however, was a milestone victory for Panthers’ head coach Carol Jue, who became the school’s all-time winningest head coach with her 160th career victory at Chapman.

The Chapman University women’s basketball team won for the 15th time in its last 16 games, defeating visiting U.C. Santa Cruz 86-40 in a Saturday matinee at the Hutton Center. The 46-point margin of victory is the Panthers’ second-largest this season, having defeated Finlandia (Mich.) by 54 points in November.
